Champions Never Give Up - Pavilion 2016

Hey Josh, do you remember that Katy Perry Rise video, that got everyone excited for the Olympic Games?

Errrr.. Oh Yeah!

Well the pavilion made a remake of that, using our own beautiful, smart Point England tamariki.

Some people say I’m like Usain Bolt, I’m speedy, tall, and my muscles are pretty big too.

(Sigh) Boys and their muscles…

Sit back, and enjoy our show and remember, Champions Never Give Up!

The students in the pavilion try their hardest every single day! We never give up! Leave us a comment :)

Pick a Path

It was a creepy and stormy night. Sam walked slowly towards the house. Fear dragged him nearer and nearer. What was hiding behind those old scary tombstones?

Walking to the tombstones out of nowhere zombies dug themselves out of the tombstone. Sam looked for brick’s  and chucked them at zombies but they still kept on coming until the bricks were all gone and finished. Sam looked for any weapons then he saw what looked like a sword but it wasn't a sword it was a stick, suddenly ghosts came out of nowhere.

There were too many for Sam to fight but he still kept on fighting until his arms were tired. Sam ducked down and slid behind the zombies and killed them but there were still more ghost killers but they kept on coming and they stopped for no reason they ran fast like lighting. Sam never gave up.

The ghost jumped on Sam and he died because they were biting Sam’s body. Now Sam is gone to heaven and the zombies lived happily ever after.

In the pavilion we have been trying to improve our writing. This is one of the students writing.  If you would like to check out Jacobs blog click here.

Olympic Comparisons

In the pavilion we have been comparing the Ancient and Modern olympics. This is one of the students in Room 12's work.  This shows us the difference between the Ancient Olympics and the Modern Olympic games.

Pierre De Coubertin

After a gap of hundreds  of years  the Olympics  return to Athens in 1896 . The reason  behind  the recreation of the Olympics  was because  of one man Pierre de Coubertin. He admired  the  Greek ideals  of  fitness  and sporty  competitiveness  Amongst   different  communities. And  he hoped  that the modern Olympics  would  bring countries  closer  together.

This is Aaliah's writing, you should check her blog out!

Netball Kiwisport

Goal, dodge, shoot!  Do you know what sport is this? It is Netball yaaaaaaaay!  We learned about lots of different things.  Chrissy taught us 3 ways of defence, sticking to your partner, keeping your hands up and being 3 feet away.  We did netball drills with Chrissy like numbers, piggy in the middle and we were working on our intercept. It was hard because you had to pass to the next person but the defender was blocking our way. We loved Netball.  Thank you Chrissy!

Swimming Writing - Nahea

This week we are doing writing about swimming as we have had lots of swimming lessons recently. We are working on having interesting beginnings and structure in our writing. I especially like the last sentence!

In the warm pool my friends and I did freestyle under the water, it was so fun.  Diving into the water I was kicking my legs really fast.  I love swimming because I love diving into the water. I also love my teacher Mr Moran he is the best teacher ever and Miss King and Miss Davis too.

Ask Eddie - Reading Activity - Chance

We read a book about a child who went to a Powhiri with his class, we did a Powhiri with some of our class.  Have a look at Chance's Blog.  Big thank you to Whaea Saf for helping us!

Today we read a book about a boy who went to a Powhiri with his class. Mr Moran and Whaea Saf decided that we should all do our own Powhiri. We had fun doing our Powhiri.  I love Kapa Haka because I love learning different waiata with Whaea saf.

The Trouble with Oatmeal - Reading Activity - Levonah

This is a reading activity Levonah's group did in the pavilion this term, to see more of her work have a look at Levonah's blog.

For reading this week we read a story called The trouble with Oatmeal. It is about a girl who moves to a new house and her cat walks back to her old house.  The girls friend found the cat and the cat had kittens. Our challenge was to use all the key competencies to think of ideas, script, rehearse, film and then edit our movie.
